" And then as soon as any questions appear concerning plans or the future or issues of general trife I'm usually just' like "TAH SON!" ..... problem solved.... among other things such as; good lamps and cereal i'm a boy of simple taste who enjoys things like tearing up rope swings, two-steppin', and gettin' straight up wibbley wobbly. That being said at the best of times my memory tends to have the worst of times, and i can't just have the good times i need to remember them, even if I'm written off. So turns out there's this thing called a camera, and if you take a pinch of emulsion, a twist of light, and a bit of thought you get mo memory pie! and there i find myself; living a life worth its weight in shiny ass diamonds and making sure at the end of the day i can prove it. A day with Ms Ireland

With one glance, you know for sure, this woman has lived. Her eyes tell stories; they welcome you in whilst at the same time saying ‘back the fuck down’. These people are my favourite, they come complete with intrigue and feed you just enough to make you want more. A feeling of warmth and effortless wisdom echoes in her twisted words, making you smile and question life as you know it. With a smile that reaches from one end of the room to the next you know the woman was meant to sing. And blessed we are for she has a voice that will infect your membranes and make you want to find your own.





It was a rainy day, back in early October when she invited me to her home to drink endless cups of chai and create some photographs to promote her upcoming gigs. If you cross this woman in your journeys you are bound to laugh or cry, go check her out at the Mullum Music Festival this weekend or take a peek on here.

Lesbians on the Loose

Lesbians on the Loose: As I turn the pages of the latest issue of LOTL, I am confronted with such stories titled 'Lesbian is the new straight' and 'Bitches and Twits'. Suddenly I become somewhat adsorbed in the world of Lesbian style and culture. Full of interesting articles, reviews and photos. Dare I say, relative to my non-bi nor curious self.

On page 41, I find my favourite story 'Designer Vagina'. Writer Clare Edmonson describes the recent nip & tuck trend on the... fanny, gash, lady garden, pussy, vag or love box. It reminds me of a conversation I had last week with my German girlfriend, that there really is no polite or sexy way of describing lady parts without sounding crass or somewhat immature. Or as Clare writes, 'sounding like a brazened whore or a five year old confused about the birds and the bees'.

However... The photo shoot: On the infamous Byron train tracks, just east of the infamous (although rumored) Byron homeless commune we park Jess's infamous 1966 Shelby Mustang. Jess Bowen Settled in Byron in 2001 after achieving a very long list of things, including work with Vidal Sassoon in London and Toni & Guy in Sydney. She now runs a more personal experience at her very own Mudhoney boutique hair salon, you can find out more about the lovely Jess Bowen here. The second model for the shoot was little miss photogenic. Shaney Simpson. Another shoot to add to her steadily growing portfolio. The colourful Location, vintage costume, vibrant make up, very cool props and blue sky made for a pleasant trouble free day. Imagine having to clean the dust of your 5k lens 7 times daily whilst trying to get that perfect angle of 5 times world champ Sebastian Loeb, ex Olympic gymnast who states on his personal website his favourite food is 'the rib of beef', and favourite drink; 'the wine'. Take note budding rally hooligans.

Seeing the media crew dodge flying European cars and big brown rocks made me glad i was perched on the upside of this hairpin left.
